Capital city ready for IFFK 2012

Ananthapuri in all her hue to invite the celebrities and guests for the IFFK festival.

The government controlled theaters Kalabhavan, Kairali, Nila and Sree will be dedicated to the public at the onset of the International Film Festival Kerala (IFFK). The Kalabhavan theater will be inaugurated today by the honourable minister KB Ganesh Kumar. The Kairali, Sree and the newly build Nila theaters will be inaugurated on Friday by the honourable Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Minister KC Joseph and VS Sivakumar respectively.

Kalabhavan Theatre Renovated

All these theaters are equipped with the modern amenities needed with 2K Digital Projection System, Silver Screen, 7.1 Sound System, new AC system and modernised push-back seats. Along with this, the theaters will have CCTVs, modernised toilets, fire safety measures and variety of food courts are the specialties of the Kairali, Sree, Nila and Kalabhavan theaters.

The Kairali theater has 442 seats with a charge of Rs. 90 per ticket, Sree theatre with 314 seats with Rs. 80 and Nila and Kalabhavan has 260 and 408 seats respectively and the tickets will be distributed through ticketing machine.

The IFFK Delegate Cell has been inaugurated by the former Film Academy Chairman KR Mohanan at Tagore Theater premises. There are nine delegate cell counters and the authorities have arranged information desk, snack corner and resting place for the delegates.
