This Startup By Two Trivandrum Brothers Gives You Lifetime Of Electricity At Rs.50,000!

When small wind turbine generating 1kW energy costs Rs.3-7 lakh, this startup plans to sell it at less than Rs. 50,000.

For the cost of an iPhone, you can now buy a wind turbine that can power an entire house for lifetime.

In their mission to provide clean energy, two brothers Arun George and Anoop George from Trivandrum have designed a cheap wind turbine that can generate enough electricity to run a house for a lifetime.

The affordable wind turbines has a one-time installation of Rs 50,000 and can generate 5 kilowatt power per day which is more than enough for a small household.

The first instalment of the Avant Garde windmill took place at Vettucaud Parish church in Trivandrum.

Arun and Anoop has founded a Startup called ‘Avant Garde Innovations‘ which focuses on eliminating energy poverty, reduce dependence on power grids and achieve energy self-sufficiency. The innovative wind turbine is their company’s first product. The first instalment of the Avant Garde windmill took place at Vettucaud Parish church in Trivandrum. The small wind turbine prototype that it has developed is highly scalable for power capacities of 300 kW or even higher.

Avant Garde’s affordable wind turbines are suitable for Residential, Commercial, Agricultural, Village Electrification and other uses. The brothers hopes to commercially launch the project by the end of 2016. When small wind turbine generating 1kW energy costs Rs.3-7 lakh, this startup plans to sell it at less than Rs. 50,000. Costs will decrease further through mass production.

The start-up has emerged as the first start-up in the world to join the new international ISO 50001 Energy Management Coalition. The US White House in its official release has listed the start-up’s involvement in the new ISO 50001 campaign. The project has already won a spot in the Top 20 Cleantech Innovations in India and Top 10 Indian companies for the UN Sustainable Energy For All initiative.
