Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal Movie Review by Shyam

Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal is a feel good movie which has its moments.

The much hyped Lal Jose’s latest offering Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal with Dileep and Rima Kallingal in the lead roles has hit the theaters today. Director Lal Jose is teaming up with Dileep for the seventh time with Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal. The film has got mixed response on the release day, so it’s really hard to give a solid review.

Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal tells the story of an ad film maker and his seven days before marriage. Aby Mathew played by Dileep is a successful ad film maker who finally decides to marry and settle down after avoiding the “marriage topic” for years due to a failed romance. He is about to get engaged to Ann (Parvathi Nambiar). Seven days before his wedding, Aby decides to visit his ex-lover Sini played by Rima Kallingal, who is now married to Alex (Murali Gopi).  Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal tells the consequences of Aby’s visit that cast on the lives of these two people. Within seven days prior to his marriage, can Aby solve all those problems? This forms rest of the story.

Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal starts as a romantic comedy and turns into a suspense-drama with some twists. First half is entertaining with some light comedies. It has right amount of suspense and drama. Meanwhile the second half goes into a serious mood. You may feel the movie is dragging, thanks to the half-baked script.

Performance wise, Dileep has done a splendid performance. His comic role and expressions are all good. Other actors, Rima Kallingal, Parvathi Nambiar and Murali Gopi had all done a fantastic job. Lal Jose’s direction is the biggest plus point of the film. He was able to take an average script into a watchable movie. However, the biggest let down of the movie is the poor script. The story becomes predictable, moving towards the end.

Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal is a feel good movie which has its moments.  Nothing great about the movie but its one time watchable!
