Pattam Pole Movie review by Aman

The first half of the movie was entertaining but, in the second half the pace slows down and drags towards the climax.

Pattam Pole, the directorial debut of the noted Cameraman Azhagappan, was a much hyped movie for the year. The film stars Dulquer Salman and new face Malavika Mohan in the lead roles.

‘Pattam Pole’ is like any other romantic-comedy movie, especially like the ones that Bollywood churns out in plenty ever year. ‘Pattam Pole’ is set in the beautiful backdrop of ‘Aleppey’. But unlike most films ‘Pattam Pole’ is a love story in reverse.

Karthik played by Dulquar Salmaan belongs to an aristocratic Brahmin family while Riya (Malavika) belongs to a Christian family. They were deeply in love. But unfortunately Karthika and Riya decide to part their ways finding themselves incompatible. If and how fate reunites the couple forms the rest of the story.

The first half of the movie was entertaining but, in the second half the pace slows down and drags towards the climax. Script of the movie is predictable and there are no twists or turns.  Climax was too simple and again, predictable.

The performances of the actors saved the movie. Performance wise, Dulquar Salman has once again delivered a convincing performance and Malavika Mohan was also good. Not bad for a new comer. Other supporting casts Archana, Shradda, Jayaprakash etc were also good. Azhagappan has done a wonderful job in his debut venture and the cinematography of Jomon T John is outstanding. Background score is also a plus.

Pattam Pole is an average time pass romantic-comedy movie. The movie is simple and is one-time watchable.

Verdict: Average
Rating: 6 / 10
