Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to hit theatres on May 2016

Earlier the director unveiled the first look at Ben Affleck's Batman and his Batmobile which is different from Christopher Nolan’s Batman.

Warner Bros. Pictures has officially revealed the title and the logo for their highly anticipated superhero movie based on the DC Comics characters Batman and Superman. The film will be called Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and is a sequel to last year’s Superman reboot film Man of Steel. It’s unlikely that Batman v Superman is in fact about the epic battle between the two superheroes.

The title Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is obviously a nod to the fact that Warner Bros. is developing a Justice League film,  the DC Comics equivalent of Marvel’s The Avengers. Director Zack Snyder will also take on that film, which doesn’t yet have a release date.

Earlier the director unveiled the first look at Ben Affleck’s Batman and his Batmobile. The new Bat suit is different from Christopher Nolan’s version and resembles the one from Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight Returns”

Dawn of Justice will be directed by Zack Snyder who also directed Man of Steel.  Ben Affleck will play Bruce Wayne/Batman, while Henry Cavill reprises his role as Clark Kent/Superman. The film also have Wonder woman played by Gal Gadot. The role of superman’s arch enemy Lex Luthor will be played by Jesse Eisenberg and the role of Alfred will be played by Jeremy Irons. It also stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel.

Principal photography will take place on location at Michigan Motion Picture Studios and on location in and around Detroit, Michigan; Illinois; Africa; and South Pacific. The film will be released worldwide on May 6, 2016.

We definitely miss Christian Bale as the Batman. Let’s hope Ben Affleck follows the success that Christian Bale had playing Batman. What do you think? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
