Hrithik Roshan in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Mohenj-Daro
#Bollywood: Ashutosh Gowarikar has been working a ‘period drama’ based on the Indus Valley civilisation for a few years now. Now it has been confirmed that, the director has roped in Hrithik Roshan in the film.
The film titled ‘ Mohenj-Daro ‘ is a love story set against the backdrop of the ancient cities of Mohenjo-daro and Harappa.
“Yes, it will again be a period film, a love story made on a larger canvas,” says Ashutosh Gowarikar. “We can take a lot from that civilisation, as I feel we are racing towards a similar situation. The only problem is that no one is aware of this. So, I want to convey a story about the civilisation, particularly Mohenj-Daro. The idea is to narrate it in the form of a love story.” he added.
The director has managed to get a lot of big technicians from Hollywood to shoot his ambitious project. At present he is working on the research, and is being assisted by a team of senior archaeologists.
For Hrithik Roshan, Mohenj-Daro will be his second project with Ashutosh Gowariker the first being ‘Jodha-Akbar’. The director was trying to get Hrithik for this film for quite some time. As Hrithik now moved out of Kran Johar’s Shuddhi, due to health reasons, he now has enough dates for Ashutosh with him. The leading lady of the film is yet to be finalized who too will be big name.
The shooting of the film will start once Hrithik wraps up ‘Bang Bang’ where he is paired opposite to Katrina Kaif.
