Mohanlal in Madhupal’s next

Director says that the film will be set in Palakkad and the story will appeal to all generations.

After making two award-winning films Thalapaavu and Ozhimuri, actor-writer-director Madhupal is back for his next untitled project with Mohanlal. It is the first time that Madhupal is teaming up with Mohanlal.

Madhupal is known for serious films with socially relevant themes. If reports are true, his next project is said to be a full-length comedy. It is also said that Mohanlal will be seen in a new avatar. According to the reports, the project was announced immediately after Ozhimuri, but got delayed due to Mohanlal’s other movie commitments. The actor will join the sets of this movie after completing Joshiy’s Lailaa O Lailaa.

Madhupal’s next is a full-length comedy in which Mohanlal will be seen in a new avatar!

Director says that the film will be set in Palakkad and the story will appeal to all generations. “The story unfolds in a village in Palakkad though there’s a Metro connection. At the risk of sounding cliched, let me tell you that it’s a very different film which will work with the old generation and the current one,” said Madhupal to Bangalore Mirror.

The script will be written by Tamil-Malayalam writer Jeyamohan

The script will be written by Tamil-Malayalam writer Jeyamohan, who had also scripted ‘Ozhimuri ‘and ‘One by Two’. The project will take-off by September at the scenic locations of Palakkad. It is planned for a forty day’s shoot says the sources related to the movie. Other actors in the films are yet to be revealed.

Madhupal’s first directorial venture Thalappavu depicted the Naxalite insurgency in Kerala while his second film Ozhimuri dealt with the matrilineal system that existed in the Nair community in the erstwhile southern Travancore.
