Prithviraj, Fahad and Indrajith in Lijo Jose Pellisery’s Anti-Christ

The script of 'Anti-Christ' is based on a short story written by Mathew almost 20 years ago.

After the success of Amen, Director Lijo Jose Pellisery is back with a project in which he plans for a casting coup with the three most popular actors of Malayalam film industry – Prithviraj, Fahad Faazil and Indrajith. Indrajith has regularly appeared in all of his earlier films, while Prithviraj and Fahad have acted in City of God and Amen, respectively.

Titled ‘Anti-Christ’, the movie is reported to be a high budget horror thriller. Unwilling to reveal too much about the film, Lijo Jose concedes that the story is about the end of the world based on the biblical character – ‘Anti-Christ’.   Prithviraj, Fahad Faazil and Indrajith will have equally important roles in it.

The film will be written by P F Mathew, National Award winner for the film Kuttisrank. The script is based on a short story written by Mathew almost 20 years ago. But since it required complex visual language it was never translated into a film, says Lijo The controversial title Anti-Christ did give the film makers some apprehensions because of its religious aspect. Lijo clarifies that the name Anti-Christ is something that exists in the Bible and there have already been films based on Anti-Christ in other languages. However, this is the first time such a theme has been portrayed in Malayalam or any other Indian films.

The shooting of the film will start by the beginning of next year. Lijo’s first forays into film with Nayakan and City of God failed to make any impact at the box office, however Amen was a huge hit. Let’s hope that ‘Anti-Christ’ will turn out to be a blockbuster.
