Singam 2 Movie Review by Aswin (No Spoilers)

Singam 2
Suriya starrer Singam 2 has released worldwide with highest number of prints. The movie is more promising and entertaining than the first instalment. The director Hari and actor Surya has really put in lot of hard work in making it a mass masala entertainer. The movie is a pot-boiler with high voltage action, beautiful heroines and dazzling music.
Singam 2 begins from where Singam left off and Doraisingam will take on much powerful villains with international linkups this time. The first 30 minutes of the movie is flat and takes a lot of time to unfold. However, towards the interval, Director Hari keeps us pinned with his crisp narration and witty one liner comedy from Santhanam and Vivek. Â The second half movie pick up speed with comedy scenes and songs.
Performance wise, Surya’s powerful macho persona with unbuttoned Kakkhi and twirling moustache has once again captured the hearts of the audience. Hansika has a mightier role to play than Anushka who has been shown as a glam doll just for the songs. British actor Danny who plays antagonist in the film is also great.
Hari’s interesting screenplay and hard-hitting dialogues and brilliantly executed screen play are one the main highlights of the film. Priyan’s cinematography is remarkable and the use of chopper cameras at various instances is great. Stunts by Anal Arasu and Rocky Rajesh deserve a special mention. Devi Sri Prasad’s score, Vivek-Santhnam’s comedy, beautiful locales and art work are other big attractions of the film. Â However, the climax lacks punch and there are unnecessary scenes and lagging sequence which could have been avoided.
Singam 2 is a romantic action movie with enough commercial elements to appeal to all types of audiences. If you are a die-hard Surya fan you will love it and if you are not it’s still worth watching.
